Comedian Kathy Griffin has a documented history of making threats against President Trump. Secret Service Agents interviewed Griffin, May 2017, for posting a video emulating the ISIS fighters who beheaded innocents with President Trump’s bloody severed head in her photoshoot.
Following that interview, no charges were filed, but the comedian lost significant bookings and was the target of considerable social media backlash. Faced with financial and social negative results, Griffin, posted this video apology. Her apology was actually telling the audience about being a comic, and her art is justification for her choice.
A year later, after she milked her victim status enough to fill the rehabbed Celebrity bottle, with extra bonus points for attacking Hollywood’s nemesis, Trump, she took back her apology on the “View.” She emerged as the perfectly packaged “nasty woman” raging and defiant.
Between those two appearances, and since then, there remains documented social media posts that are vile, invoking and fanning resistance and “eradicating ” President Trump and family members. Now she has threatened the President again. Unfortunately, the tweet has been removed, but here is a screenshot.
Forced air into the bloodstream, as in injected, can produce an air embolism, which often is fatal. The Washington Examiner tweeted back the following:

Clearly, Griffin’s response clarifies her intent. The political/cultural environment in the United States today makes this declaration by Griffin a credible threat as well as a call for action. The Right Wire Report is not concerned with debating whether Griffin herself, is credibly indicting she would use a syringe against the President. The possibility there are more, “James T. Hodgkinson’s” to be activated by violent political rhetoric is chilling. Hodgkinson, a Bernie Sanders Democrat, was motivated to shoot up a GOP baseball practice, severely injuring Rep. Steve Scalise and others.
Frankly, based on her public statements and appearances over several years, Right Wire Report, can not rule out, her own voiced desires coming to fruition by her own hand, based on mental health presentations and instability. The question is, will she now be charged with a crime?
See law code: 18 U.S. Code § 871
“(a) Whoever knowingly and willfully deposits for conveyance in the mail or for delivery from any post office or by any letter carrier any letter, paper, writing, print, missive, or document containing any threat to take the life of, to kidnap, or to inflict bodily harm upon the President of the United States, the President-elect, the Vice President or other officer next in the order of succession to the office of President of the United States, or the Vice President-elect, or knowingly and willfully otherwise makes any such threat against the President, President-elect, Vice President or other officers next in the order of succession to the office of President, or Vice President-elect, shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than five years, or both.”
A google search, just on President Obama and President Trump, reveals many who have been charged with making threats online to POTUS. The list is shockingly long but here are just a few:
- Christopher Castillo
- Joaquin Amador Serrapio Jr.
- John Martin Roos
- Brian Dutcher
- Anton Calouri
- Donte Jamar Sims
- Standup comedian, Vermonter, Chris King
- Steffon Gonzalez
- Aaron McDowell
- Friedrich Ishola
So why no arrest of Kathy Griffin? Consider, Patrick W. Carlino, was arrested, charged and sentenced for calling Rep. Ilhan Omar and leaving threats on voice mail related to her religion. Also consider the five-year sentence given to Chase Bliss Colasurdo, for online threats against Trump and his family members.
Kathy Griffin’s actions to date now demand a full investigation and charges for breaking the law. Through this process, a full mental evaluation should be ordered. Right Wire Report is advocating for consequences to be applied as they have been in so many other cases where being a celebrity or well-connected friends are not part of the equation. Charges do not necessarily result in prison confinement and often a record, ankle bracelet confinement to home, and a hefty fine is issued.
Americans need to comprehend the weight of, dancing on the fringe in a virtual online space, of threatening the life of a president, vice president, politician, and family members. Kathy Griffin got a pass the first time around, and this time must face the music before another history book records another unthinkable American tragedy.
