Homeless Man Machette Attacks Couple Over Coronavirus, Just Like Lockdown Protesters?

TN Machete Man

WVLT Channel 8 Knoxville, TN – Police say a Nashville couple were in critical care after a man attacked them with a machete because he was angry about shutdowns that were taking place during the Coronavirus pandemic. The Metro Nashville Police Department says Kelvin Edwards attacked 55-year-old Kevin Craft and 50-year-old Leanne Craft on Sunday afternoon in a Public Storage in the city. The couple badly injured remain fight for their lives.

Police say 35-year-old Edwards is homeless and attacked the couple to demonstrate his anger about his inability to get into an organization (Nashville Rescue Mission) that serves homeless people. He has been arrested and charged with two counts of attempted murder. In a Twitter post, Metro Nashville Police Department said six officers applied multiple tourniquets to the couple’s wounds in an effort to save their lives.

In 2017, he was convicted of felony vandalism. While in jail, Edwards was charged with deliberately spitting on two Davidson County Sheriff’s deputies, for which he was convicted on two counts of assault. Edwards, who has been in Nashville since 2016, has had run-ins with the law previously, according to court records. He was carrying an Arkansas driver’s license with a Little Rock address.

Thoughts do turn to why. Was it poverty? Does poverty make people take a machete to others? The choice of weapon and the Islamic community Edwards comes from does ask if the community has part responsibility. We won’t even get into the issue of race. The real point here is that there is a growing attempt to blend Coronavirus response policy protests with violence or even terrorists.

We have seen this phenomenon before. For example, these headlines:

Now juxtapose this incident in Tennessee with what a real Coronavirus lockdown protest looks like. Peaceful protests of lockdown protesters that want reopen America to enable commerce to continue to keep America strong during these troubling crisis times are not the same. Yes, people are frustrated, but you don’t pick up a machete and start hacking people. The picture is very different.

Right Wire Report has reported extensively about peace protests asking for redress of their government – click here, here and here. One should not confuse real patriot actions with an incident like this. Hats off to the first responders in reacting quickly to this event, and we wish well a successful, speedy recovery to the Knoxville, TN Craft family.

He is just an evil person and was looking to find some one to attack. I think people are tired of how people are calming the corona virus for everything. Dog bite-corona virus, bee sting-corona virus, and boat overturns-corona virus. Wake up America! We are not that stupid. Well most of Us are not! There will always be some people who will fall for what ever the media puts in print!
