Warriors Weekend Heartfelt Events Cancelation, But Let’s Not Forget Our Wounded Combat Soldiers

Warriors Weekend 2020-04-08

How do we support those that serve in the military for our country? They suffer physical injury and moral trauma as they fight in wars to protect us – while most of us are unaware of their efforts. If we send our soldiers to war, we also are responsible for welcoming them home and helping them heal. Many such organizations do just this, help our soldiers heal. Right Wire Report would like to highlight one of these organizations – Warrior’s Weekend – Texas.

Founded in 2007, Warrior’s Weekend – Texas is a non-profit, 501 (c) 3 Corporation dedicated to the support of veterans of The United States of America with an emphasis on those wounded in The Global War on Terrorism. This is accomplished through holding an annual fishing event for wounded military Combat Soldiers in Port O’Connor, Texas, as well as donations to veterans and veterans-based causes.

Warriors Weekend events for 2020:

As we start the beginning of the new year, every weekend, Warriors Weekend have held raffles and yard sales, along with a Crawfish Festival, and dances. Warriors Weekend had several Combat Soldiers to give the short testimony of their acts of valor. Warriors Weekend also brought a Gold Star Family down to honor their sons and daughters. Upcoming events:

Warrior’s Weekend Muster Dinner – April 12, 2020. We hold our first annual Muster Dinner in Port O’ Connor, Texas.

Warrior’s Weekend Field of Honor Rebar Challenge – April 18, 2020.

Warrior’s Weekend Day of Fishing – May 15, 2020:

  • Our Combat Soldiers arrived into our little community for dinner Friday night. Dinner is served at 6:00 pm.
  • Dinner is served by Warrior’s Weekend’s volunteers.
  • Saturday, ALL DAY FISHING! Sunday 8:00 AM Breakfast, CALL TO MUSTER, PRAYER, and a PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE TO THE FLAG, which is Held at the Port O’ Connor Community Center. AT 12.00 pm.
  • All soldiers go to the buses they traveled down on, and we bid them a safe journey home. We remain behind and plan for next year’s event.

On March 12, 2020, we had a staff meeting. It was a hard decision, but Warriors Weekend had to cancel this year’s events, until further notice. This was due to the widespread situation with the Coronavirus pandemic. It just broke our hearts, but we just had to cancel. Warriors Weekend staff called each individual to let them know of our decision. Please check out the status of our activities on future events – click here.

You might ask, why are these events important? We live in a relatively picturesque, peaceful country where war zones are unheard of. No one can truly understand what it’s like to enter a war zone – and neither at first, many of our military combat soldiers. Though a military combat soldier always understands the possibility of being put in harm’s way, when the moment arrives, it can be traumatic and deadly. Have a look and take a moment to remember our veterans by watching a video they have produced:

As this Cornoravirus sweeps our country, we pray that each one of our Combat Soldiers stays safe. God bless our Combat Soldiers. God bless America, and God bless our President of the United States of America.

There are events throughout the year that takes a lot of human resources through volunteers that help us raise funds, increase awareness, and make sure we are showing our appreciation to our heroes. We would love for you to get involved – email Warrior’s Weekend – Texas at warriorswknd@yahoo.com (or click here). Please go to the website www.warriorsweekend.org to give your support.
