Trifling Democrat Strategist James Carville, donned his LSU ball cap on MSNBC to discuss the Super Tuesday primary outcomes. The “Ragin Cajun ” nickname given to Carville was on full display as he came to deliver the professional political class within the DNC Club’s message. The Clarion call:
“I think you’re going to start seeing some backlash here, like come on, man, we’re speaking pretty loudly, and we’re speaking pretty clearly tonight,” Carville told MSNBC host Brian Williams. “And we’re voters, and we want to be heard. You can just feel it, you can feel it coming. The dynamic is going to change. This ball is moving fast, and it’s going to continue to move. I understand that they’ll keep raising money, but people are not going to be very happy with him after a while. We might see Democrats starting to ask Sanders, look, let’s don’t drag this thing out any more than we have to. People want to get on to the general election. They want to get on to defeating Donald Trump.”
Hear that Bernie? After the DNC Club designed the playing field with players to dilute attempts to consolidate votes early and drive momentum, only to jump out of the race on the eve of the Super Tuesday primaries and endorse Biden, YOU are being told to throw in the towel for the good of the Club!
But the more burning question to be asked is, were Black American voters listening? Carville paused and, in a grand gesture, offered a salute to Rep. James Clyburn (D-SC). “That guy literally saved the Democratic Party,” Carville said of Clyburn.” He then went on to declare, “African-Americans, as Democrats’ most loyal constituency and educated white women as the most exciting new constituency for the party.” Carville noted the effectiveness of “the use of emotion in politics ” when referring to Clyburn’s Hail Mary endorsement for Biden on the eve of Super Tuesday. See Carville at work:
One politician of color with a historic political career can play Pied Piper and lead the South Carolinian Black voters to deliver a Biden victory? Apparently so, at least Carville thinks so. What does that really say? Biden had been campaigning since April 2019 and had a high profile political career that span decades producing an easily accessible record. What is he running on? Nothing really – see here.
Surely, all voters in South Carolina knew enough about Joe prior to the primary eve to feel confident in their choice of which candidate to vote for. Is Carville confessing that he and the DNC establishment know that Black Americans do not perform due diligence as a voter and can simply be told who to pull the lever for?
Take a breath and save the hair-trigger racist charge that the question dared to be asked. Does anyone buy that a Civil Rights Icon, member of Congress for decades, and Congressional Black Caucus leader, did not know who he wanted to endorse in his state primary until hours before? Speaking “truth to power” here – Clyburn was dispatched and instructed to herd his people’s votes. So does Clyburn have a free agency here? If those black SC voters could be polled would they list the policies they support that motivated their allegiance to Biden for president or simply say if he is good enough for James Clyburbn that is good enough for me?
Since the late sixties, Democrats have depended on a Pavlov’s dog response from a large swath of black Americans. Until Trump, this “loyal constituency” always pony up and give away their power as a voting block and make excuses for why the issues that impact their lives: homeownership, education, employment, immigration, and entrepreneurship, worsened under the Obama/Biden era.
Are you listening too white educated women? Does having a uterus and desire to have options other than self-control and personal responsibility mean your vote can be so confidently purchased? Respectfully, how cheap is human life? What? Too harsh? Will you dare claim your vote for Biden is a backlash to your feelings that Trump is a misogynist? Biden is a hair sniffing, hands-on video documented letch but less so than you have been indoctrinated to believe Trump is? Or maybe you wish to make the case your vote is about women’s equality and job opportunities? Biden was Vice President in the administration that paid women less, the poverty rate increased, women unemployment rose, and the child’s public education scores in basic math and English plummeted.
Face it, Carville is right. Democrats never have to make the policy case or show a grasp of the issues. They do not get into the ring of ideas and debate the merits. THEY DO NOT HAVE TO! They simply lubricate their base with charged feelings, misrepresent certain realities, and trigger them enough to keep them hanging on the line. Then they jiggle the bait, and the base bites down hard.
