Politico – Documents reveal massive “dark money” group boosted Democrats [sce emoji=”bandit”/] in 2018, according to Politico. The Sixteen Thirty Fund, a little-known nonprofit headquartered in Washington, spent $141 million on more than 100 left-leaning causes during the midterm election year, according to a new tax filing from the group.
The money contributed to efforts ranging from fighting Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh and other Trump judicial nominees to boosting ballot measures raising the minimum wage and changing laws on voting and redistricting in numerous states. The spending was fueled by massive anonymous donations, including one gift totaling $51.7 million.
“These kinds of totals aren’t unheard of,” it was reported – however, “I do think they’re unheard of on the liberal side.” Several of the biggest donors and organizations in Democratic politics also have public links to Sixteen Thirty Fund. Potential presidential candidate and megadonor Michael Bloomberg gave $250,000 to a super PAC linked to Sixteen Thirty Fund, Change Now, in 2018.
CNBC – Bloomberg is gearing up to dump some serious cash for leftist causes. He is going to spend $15M – $20M to register half a million voters in 5 key states. The new voter registration drive targets voters across five states that Trump won in 2016 largely by narrow margins. The new effort will target traditionally underrepresented groups that typically lean Democratic, including African Americans, Latinos, Asians, young voters, and those living in some rural communities.
Groups like the Young Turks, who supposedly promote ideas of getting money out of politics with their own political action group (Wolf PAC), are more than willing to participate in Dark Money when it suits them. TYT’s star political actor, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, has continually denied violating campaign finance law after a conservative government watchdog filed a complaint with the FEC accusing the Democratic lawmaker and her chief of staff of being part of an “off-the-books operation” to spend hundreds of thousands of dollars on candidates last year.
An FEC report (Federal Election Commission) shows Donald Trump laid out $94m in his push for White House, while Hillary Clinton spent $132m and cemented herself as the biggest fundraiser. This is not to even speak of the payment-in-kind with Hollywood, Silicon Valley tech, academia, and the mainstream media being major propaganda wings for the Democratic party – even Darker Money.
For sure, Republicans will do well-raising money for 2020, though mostly it will be declared and is not Dark Money. The point to this posting is that when the 2020 election season heats up, Democratic Dark Money will be flowing – a WARNING for 2020[sce emoji=”whatsgoingon”/] This means we will need more and more aggressive grassroots efforts like Strike Force to combat a formidable opposition … [sce emoji=”fingerscrossed”/]
