KLSA12 – On Wednesday, Congressman Mike Johnson confirmed that President Donald Trump will hold a rally in Bossier City. The event will be held Thursday, Nov. 14, at the CenturyLink Center, according to a Facebook post.
Congressman Mike Johnson said he reminded Donald Trump of the president’s history in Shreveport-Bossier City when making a pitch for Trump to headline a rally at the CenturyLink Center (capacity 14,000).
Johnson’s case was compelling enough to convince Trump to return to Shreveport-Bossier City at 7 p.m. Nov. 14, where the president will lead a rally supporting Republican Baton Rouge businessman Eddie Rispone in the Nov. 16 governor’s election. Trump’s participation in the governor race will give a significant boost for the Republican candidate. Rispone faces incumbent Democratic Gov. John Bel Edwards in a race most consider a tossup.

In a 1998 interview with The Times, Trump praised the cities. “I love Shreveport-Bossier City, and the people there are just so outstanding,” he said then. “They’re very receptive to guys like me, and I feel very much at home when I’m there.
